Many years ago, THE SHOW AND TELL MACHINE was created for the purpose of perpetual and self-sustaining entertainment of every sort imaginable. So large was this unprecedented contraption, that it occupied the entirety of Pawpapaw County. THE SHOW AND TELL MACHINE, while a fascinating experiment, was never a complete success. But! It remains in operation to this day, maintained by the citizens of Pawpapaw County.

THE SHOW AND TELL MACHINE broadcasts live radio transmissions from Pawpapaw County on a weekly basis, Wednesdays at 10:30 PM EST. Broadcasts are mediated and brought to you by WCBN FM 88.3 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. You can listen to a live MP3 stream online HERE.
In the spirit of children's radio and television broadcasting, but stuffed with enough avant-garde noise, psychedelic thowbacksmanship and surreal cartoon mayhem to satisfy adventurous listeners of all ages, THE SHOW AND TELL MACHINE radio transmissions must be heard to be believed. Each episode sheds new light on Pawpawpaw County, THE SHOW AND TELL MACHINE, and the eccentric characters who keep it running.

Barnaby arrives in Pawpapaw County and becomes the SHOW AND TELL MACHINE file clerk. The Central Computer introduces itself. Captain Busby, The Ya-Ya's, The Thing in a Box, Willard, and Barnaby make their debuts. Songs featured by Daniel Johnston and Jad Fair among others.

In the first episode broadcast completely live, Barnaby finds himself in a bad mood, and takes out his anger on the Central Computer and his friends. Captain Busby and the Thing in a Box offer their own suggestions for how to handle anger. The random sound generator fails to cheer Barnaby up.

Barnaby arrives to work very late after sleeping in. Captain Busby fails to cover for him in the filing department, the Professor laments a failed gardening venture, The random sound generator presents Keats in a haunted house with bad plumming.Episode 006 Original Airdate 11/8/2006
Barnaby watches a scary movie from the video collection and has trouble napping. The Random Sound Generator plays helium-jazz, the Central Computer keeps requesting a certain Lipps Inc. song, and Captain Busby helps Barnaby dance his nightmares away with Brazilian disco music.
